Introduction to Free Motion Quilting with Trudi Wood

Join experienced Free Motion Quilter Trudi Wood in a hands on class to learn (or build on your) free motion quilting skills. Focussing on technique, this class will show you how to set yourself up for success by sharing tips and simple designs which will enable you to finish a project without unpicking or throwing it out of the window!

About your teacher: Trudi learnt to sew at an early age, mastering various stitched crafts including cross stitch, embroidery and dressmaking. After making her own clothes as well as ball gowns she was introduced to patchwork by a colleague. She has now been quilting for more than 20 years, and runs her own Long Arm Machine Quilting business. In her spare time she juggles having teenager at home, an allotment and a part time job for a rights charity. She blogs at Quilting Prolifically .

Skills needed: Students must know how to use a sewing machine.

Date: Saturday, 18 November, 10am - 4pm

Location: Our West Hampstead shop at West Hampstead Square NW6 2BR

Materials: You'll need one to bring or buy the following materials for class. Students receive a 10% discount when they purchase supplies in the shop.
*2 Fat Quarters plain fabrics
*1 Fat Quarter backing fabric
*1/2 m Wadding (ideally cotton rich wadding such as Quilters Dream Cotton, Warm & Natural, Warm & White, Hobbs 80/20 - desirable not essential)
*Spare plain cotton fabric and wadding for practice pieces
*50wt thread
