Calling all creative small business bosses: Our January Make Like a Boss with Lizzie Evans is on 31 January!

Make Like a Boss is back on 31 January and I’m so excited to chat with this month’s featured business owner, Lizzie Evans! If you’re new, Make Like a Boss is a networking series for creative small businesses hosted at our West Hampstead shop. Each free event features a Q&A with a small business owner followed by time to hang out and chat, learn, share, moan and come away with some new contacts and ideas for your business. Make Like a Boss is back in 2018 and we’re so excited to have three fantastic events already in the diary so you can make your plans and come on out! Make Like a Boss is a networking series for creative small businesses hosted at our West Hampstead shop! Each free event features a Q&A with a small business owner followed by time to hang out and chat, learn, share, moan and come away with some new contacts and ideas for your business. At our January event we’ll be chatting to Lizzie Evans! Lizzie is a creative entrepreneur best known as the founder and owner of design-led lifestyle store SMUG in Islington. In February, we’ll be chatting to Helen Kemp! Helen is the founder of Just Got Made, an organisation that makes it easy for designers, makers, manufacturers, suppliers and maker facilities to connect and start making products together. 
We’ll be talking to Helen about how she turned the idea of connecting the maker community into a business, her advice for entrepreneurs that want to start manufacturing products and how her new baby has changed how she works. RSVP here.

Our March event will feature Melissa Fehr. Melissa designs activewear sewing patterns for her brand FehrTrade Patterns and is the author of Sew Your Own Activewear. We’ll be chatting to her about how she created a business out of her passions for distance running and sewing, how she’s established herself as an expert in her niche market – even becoming a consultant on Great British Sewing Bee! – and her new book. Reminder! Make Like a Boss with Emily Quinton is on Wednesday

Our October Make Like a Boss is this Wednesday evening! We are so excited to chat with Makelight founder Emily Quinton! Makelight is a learning community for makers and entrepreneurs to grow, inspire and support each other. Makelight offer a series of courses to help people to start or grow their creative business and an international Membership community to support people with their learning and growth.

We’ll be talking to Emily about starting and growing Makelight, how online courses transformed her business, what it’s like to work with her husband and manage work/life with four children, and get some advice about sprucing up our Instagram accounts! Our September Make Like a Boss event is this week! Do you have your ticket? Make Like a Boss is a networking series for creative small businesses that we host at our West Hampstead shop. Each super fun, free event features a Q&A with a small business owner (or in this case, owners) followed by time to hang out and chat, learn, share, moan and come away with some new contacts and ideas for your business. Drinks and nibbles are provided!

This month we will be chatting with Dominique Major and Rosa Riddington of Suzy Magazine! Suzy is an independent sewing magazine for fashion forward sewists published here in London. After a successful Kickstarter campaign and launch in 2016, Suzy is going strong with issue three in shops now. We’re excited to find out all about what it’s like to run a print magazine and what’s next for Suzy! Plus, we’ll get some tips on how to run a successful crowdfunding campaign.
