Katagami Stencilling with Indigo with Rob Jones
Sunday, 24 June, 10:30am – 4:30pm
The Japanese craft of Katagami (stencil cutting) has been around for hundreds of years, with craftsmen making the most delicate and detailed patterns and representations of nature. Katagami stencils are made from Japanese washi paper, soaked and bonded together by the juice of the Persimmon fruit and then dried and smoked to create an almost entirely waterproof paper, ideal for stencil work. Sew a Pair of Ginger Jeans with Charlotte Newland

Have you ever dreamed of sewing yourself a pair of great-fitting jeans? The idea of sewing jeans can be intimidating for even the most experienced dressmakers, but in this class our talented teacher will guide you through every step, from trouser-fitting to inserting a zip-fly to top-stitching to installing jeans hardware. The Ginger Jeans pattern from Closet Case Files is a classic 5-pocket jeans sewing pattern with a modern and flattering cut designed for stretch denim. Crochet a Flower Wreath with Annie Windley
Monday 4 June, 7pm – 9pm (£38)
Learn how to crochet a beautiful floral wreath! Aimed at crocheters who are confident in the basics, this class will teach you all the techniques you need to make a wide range of flowers and different types of leaves. You’ll also learn how to crochet the wreath base including how to make increases and decreases in your work. Wednesday 6 June, 6:30pm – 9:30pm (£45)
This class will introduce aspiring stitchers – or those who need a refresher – how to use a sewing machine! In this comprehensive three hour class, you’ll get sewing machine-savvy and leave with enough knowledge and confidence to start making your own projects at home! This workshop is focussed solely on the skill of sewing and the entire three hours will be spent practising each element below to ensure that the methods stay in your mind after the class. Dressmaking 101 with Charlotte Newland

Would you love to make clothes but find patterns impossible to understand? This one-day class will demystify the dressmaking process whilst you make a beautiful skirt in the fabric of your choice. You will learn standard sewing terms and techniques that you can apply to other patterns and gain the confidence to sew your own clothes. Crochet an Amigurumi Cactus with Zoe Bateman

Advanced Embroidery with Carina Envoldsen-Harris

This class is designed for students who have mastered the basics of hand embroidery and would like to learn more advanced stitches! Brush Lettering Workshop with Emma Block
Wednesday 13 June, 10.30am – 1pm (£60)
Taught by illustrator Emma Block, this contemporary brush lettering workshop will focus on developing skills and learning techniques allowing you to grow in confidence and start to develop your own brush lettering style. We’ll start with exercises to practice making shapes, creating lines of different thicknesses and using different brushstrokes. You’ll then practice writing the alphabet, words and phrases with plenty of help and guidance on hand. You will be given a complete set of materials which you can take away after class, including guide sheets, a brush and a pot of indian ink. Patchwork Techniques: Circles Four Ways with Jenny Haynes
Sunday 10 June, 10am – 5pm
Take your quilting to the next level with four new techniques for machine and hand-piecing curves! In this class we’ll cover needle applique, bias binding, EPP and the six-minute circle. Knitting Clinic for Beginners and Improvers with Renée Callahan

Our Knitting Clinic is open to students at all levels who want to learn to knit or learn a new knitting technique! Macrame Plant Hanger with Zoe Bateman

Macrame is a form of textile-making that uses knots rather than weaving or knitting. In this class you’ll learn macrame basics, including how to get started, the three most common macrame knots that are the basis for most macrame designs, how to use knots to create a pattern and how to customise or design your own pattern for future projects. Make a Lampshade with Suzie Kemner
Tuesday 5 June, 7pm – 9pm (£45)
In this fun two hour workshop, Suzie Kemner will lead you through the process of turning a fabric of your choice into a beautiful drum lampshade. You’ll learn how to line up the fabric, attach it to specialist lampshade vinyl (glow tested and certified) and then craft it into a 30cm lampshade that can be hung from a ceiling rose or mounted on a standard lamp. Fitting Masterclass with Charlotte Newland
Saturday 30 June, 10am – 5pm
This intensive one-day class is designed for students who know how to sew, but want to learn how to make a dress that fits beautifully. Working with the dress pattern of your choice, our experienced instructor will teach show you tips and techniques for taking accurate measurements, making a muslin, evaluating fit, basic pattern adjustments (blending between sizes, bust adjustments, lengthening/shortening) and altering your pattern. Finish that Quilt with Jenny Haynes

Have a quilt that is stuck in WIP purgatory? This class is for you! Bring in your project to get help, encouragement and inspiration from our experienced teacher and finish that quilt! The class is a fun and colourful introduction to hand embroidery that is designed for beginners or those who want a refresher. You will start by learning the tools of the craft, how to use a hoop and how to transfer a pattern. Next, we’ll explore a selection of stitches – running stitch, back stitch, stem stitch, French knots and more – by creating a sweet modern sampler designed by Carina. Beginners Shibori: Stitching and Binding with Rob Jones
Tuesday 19 June, 6:30pm – 9pm (£50)
In this class you will learn basic shibori stitching and binding techniques before dyeing your work in the indigo vat. Over the 2.5 hour workshop you’ll master the following stitching and binding skills and learn all about indigo, including: the basic kamosage knot used to secure all bound work; how to make the kumo (spiderweb), bai (seashell), and tesugi (stripes) patterns using binding; the three basic stitches – running stitch, ori nui (teeth) and maki nui (twist stitch); how to create filled shapes (maki-age) using stitching and binding; and how to dye your fabrics in a genuine indigo vat! Kels O’Sullivan Cushion with Jenny Haynes

Make a cushion with great graphics and gentle curves! In this workshop, Jenny Haynes of Papper, Sax, Sten will cover all the elements of piecing a Kels O’Sullivan block and sewing a cushion. Learn to Crochet Granny Squares with Annie Windley

Learn to crochet the classic granny square! In this two hour class, you’ll learn to create a granny square that can be used as a drinks coaster or as the start of a blanket, accessory or anything else you can dream up! We’ll cover basic crochet stitches, how to finish a square and how to connect squares to create larger projects plus how to follow a crochet pattern or chart. Sew a Rope Bowl with Sarah Jeffrey

Sarah Jeffrey creates beautiful rope bowls for her brand Haar East and now you can learn to make them too! In this fun class you’ll learn how to sew a rope bowl on a home sewing machine, picking up tips on how to manipulate the rope into different shapes and how to use thread colours to create different results. You’ll be able to finish one medium-sized bowl or two small bowls in class – perfect for a gift or a treat for yourself! Guided Studio Time with Charlotte Newland

Work on the sewing or quilting project of your choice with the expert guidance of 2016 Great British Sewing Bee winner Charlotte Newland! You’re welcome to bring a project at any stage of completion to receive personalised instruction. Classes are kept small so you’ll have plenty of one-on-one time. Crochet Granny Squares: Next Steps with Annie Windley
Tuesday 12 June, 7pm – 9pm (£38)
If you know how to crochet a basic granny square, this intermediate class is perfect to take your crochet to the next level. In the first part of the two-hour lession, you will learn a number of different variations on the basic square: such as starting with a circular motif, adding clusters for texture, and incorporating 3-dimensional effects like petals to give your project design some added interest and texture. You’ll also learn the principles behind creating a granny square variation so that you’ll be able to design a granny square of your very own. In the second part of the lesson you’ll learn a number of different ways to join your finished squares together: invisible methods, sewn and crocheted ones, a way to join squares as you go and also some decorative finishes to add a whole new layer of interest to your finished project.
