Our new window display was inspired by a colour scheme: teal, citron and coral. One of our customers put together some fabrics in these colours for a quilt for a friend, and the the combination stuck in my mind for weeks so I knew we had to dedicate a window display to it.
These colours are popping up in so many collections and I love them! Bright and full of energy – just the way I feel this time of year when the days get longer and the sun comes out. It’s only March, but it felt right to put away our snowflakes (as beautiful as they were) and start thinking about spring!
Starting at the far left, our first little girl is wearing the Anya Tunic and Shorts by Green Bee Patterns. The top is sewn up in Stitch Floral Circle in Red and the shorts are in Interweave Chambray in Slate.
The next little girl is wearing the Roller Skate Dress by Oliver + S. The main fabric is Double Dot in Green from Monaluna’s Monaco collection and the trim is Sun Print Feathers in Teal by Alison Glass. Both adorable little girl outfits were made by Charlotte.
Next we have a gorgeous quilt by Kelly using a pattern of her own design! You can find a free pattern for this quilt here on The Daily Stitch tomorrow and a bundle of the fabrics used in this quilt here. We picked out the fabrics and let Kelly run with it and it looks amazing.
The woman’s dress in the window is the new Mortmain pattern from Gather. Charlotte sewed it up in Squared Elements in Teal. You can read more about her pattern alterations on her blog. For now it’s fun having a Charlotte double to talk to when things get slow in the shop…
Finally we whipped up a simple fabric garland inspired by Jeni’s booth at Fall Market. The colours are Kona Emerald, Wasabi and Coral. This took very little time – just a dozen one-inch strips of each colour tied to a length of piping cord. Easy but fun!
Won’t you come visit our West Hampstead shop and see it in person?
